Mr. Travolta’s Scientology vs. “Hairspray”

John Travolta’s latest project is a reprise of the movie “Hairspray”. He will play the role of Edna Tumbland, who is a mom. Wait…mom? You read it right, a mom. Mr. Travolta is playing the role of a gay guy in this movie. The movie itself “Hairspray” is a movie of the 80’s that talks about gays.

This is good for John Travolta’s acting and everything, but people from the gay community are reacting. They either want John out of the movie, or have the movie stopped altogether. Now what did Mr. Travolta do to offend the gay community that prompted them to call for the boycott and canning of the film?

It’s known that John Travolta is one of the most famous actors to be part of the religion of Scientology along with Tom Cruise. He is also known as a staunch supporter of this belief and this belief denounces homosexuality. Homosexuality is known to be condemned in their religion, and the people who are identified as homosexuals undergo the Scientologists cleansing operations. So basically, doing a role as a gay person is basically insulting to the community.

Even we don’t understand why Mr. Travolta did something like this when he believes every word the book of Scientology.
